Create a proactive message campaign
Show the right message to the right visitor based on page, delay and selected rules.
Updated 7 August 2026A campaign combines content, targeting, pressure and schedule
Proactive messages is a standalone module: the index lists and measures campaigns, while creation and editing use separate pages. Wavize allows up to ten saved campaigns and five active at once.
On a given page, the engine should retain one campaign based on eligibility and priority. A failed test may therefore result from a higher-priority campaign, reached daily cap or unfinished delay.
Essential limits
Localized message: 220 characters; button label: 42; delay: 3–120 seconds; scroll: 0–90%; cooldown: 1–720 hours; daily cap: 1–3.
Choose type and write variants
Welcome, page assistance, product assistance, announcement and promotion serve different intents.
Internal name and status
Give it a name the team recognizes in reports. You may save it inactive for review; activation remains changeable from the list.
Message per language
Write one useful sentence, not a full presentation. Choose the default language used when no exact variant matches the visitor.
Optional button
Label and URL should describe the same action. URL is optional, limited to HTTP/HTTPS and 500 characters; test it without an administrator session.
Target page, device and context
Combine only necessary rules so you can explain visitor eligibility.
URL rule
All pages expects no value. Contains, Exact or Starts with requires a URL string; copy a stable path without session parameters.
Page type
You may select up to six among home, product, category, article, search and other. Check your site supplies context enabling classification.
Device
Choose all, desktop or mobile. Mobile targeting should be tested with a real viewport and without covering essential controls.
Set appearance, frequency and priority
These settings prevent repetitive prompts and determine the winner among campaigns.
Delay and scroll
Visitors must satisfy configured conditions. A short delay with 50% scroll will not appear before the reading threshold is reached.
Cooldown and daily cap
Cooldown spaces redisplays; daily cap limits to one, two or three impressions a day. Private browsing or clearing storage may change a test, not normal visitor behaviour.
Priority 1 to 100
Use an internal convention, such as urgent promotion above welcome. Avoid assigning 100 to every campaign because that removes meaningful arbitration.
Schedule active periods
Scheduling combines days, hours, timezone and optional absolute dates.
Days and time range
Select Monday through Sunday and, when useful, start and end times. A campaign without a time range remains eligible all selected day.
Timezone
Choose the audience or commercial-operation timezone. Europe/Paris is the initial welcome-campaign value but is not universal.
Absolute start and end
For a promotion, set dates so it cannot reappear after expiry. Ensure end is later than start.
Measure without distorting the test
The index consolidates impressions, opens and open rate over the last thirty days.
- Impression — The campaign was actually shown, not merely eligible.
- Open — The visitor engaged the bubble or action tracked by the widget.
- Isolated test — Temporarily pause competing campaigns or control their priority.
