Useful data

A Mailchimp audience connected to your conversations

Synchronization uses email as the identifier and sends available information without fabricating contact details.

Unified contact

An existing member is updated and a new member is created according to the selected consent mode.

Explicit audience

The Audience ID precisely identifies the Mailchimp list that receives Wavize profiles.

Appropriate status

Double opt-in creates a pending request; profile-only does not force a marketing subscription.

Setup

Connect the Mailchimp API and audience

The Mailchimp API key must keep its data-centre suffix, such as -us21, and be paired with the target Audience ID.

  1. 1In Mailchimp, open account settings, then Extras and API keys to create a dedicated key.
  2. 2Keep the complete key including its -usXX suffix, which identifies the data centre used by the API.
  3. 3In Audience, open the target list settings and copy its Audience ID.
  4. 4Enter both values in Wavize, choose the consent mode and test the connection before activation.

Fewer exports and better marketing continuity

Contacts captured in Wavize can automatically reach the audience used by your campaigns and journeys.

Conversational capture

Visitors share their details through a coherent contact journey in the widget.

Idempotent updates

Email is used to update the matching member instead of multiplying duplicates.

Controlled synchronization

The connection and its mode can be changed from the Wavize account.

Control and privacy

A complete, encrypted and verified key

Wavize checks the Mailchimp ping and then the selected audience before marking the connection as valid.

Data-centre suffix checked
Audience verified by identifier
Key encrypted server-side
Double opt-in available

Frequently asked questions

Why is the -usXX suffix required?+

Mailchimp uses it to determine your account data centre and build the correct API address. Always copy the complete key.

Where can I find the Audience ID?+

Open the relevant audience in Mailchimp and then its settings. The Audience ID is a technical identifier distinct from the list name.

Does Wavize create duplicates?+

Synchronization uses the normalized email address to create or update the matching member in the selected audience.
